SEPTEMBER 2020 FENG SHUI FLYING STARS & CHINESE ASTROLOGY FORECAST

SEPTEMBER 2020 is Yin Wood on Metal Rooster month and begins on the 7th at 3:57 am

In the Northern Hemisphere and in the Solar Calendar it is the peak of Autumn season when the energy begins to go within to prepare for the winter season ahead.

But, in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the beginning of Spring where plants blossom and start to look pretty. Just like the Rooster who is known as a Romance Flower, this month is about relationships and attraction.

The Metal Rooster is also the peak of Metal season therefore, strengthening the Water Rat energy of the year. This month anticipate an unexpected wetter climate, causing natural disasters like flood, cyclones, and tornadoes.

September is another month where the elements are opposed to each other, as the Metal element cuts down the Wood Element, therefore causing unrest. So, just when you think we might be getting ahead, there may be setbacks. Think of the Yin Wood as a rose bush and the metal as shears or a pruning tool, when the rose bush is cut back it seem bear, but as time goes by this bush blossoms into producing beautiful flowers with an aromatic smell…. Yes, we will be “smelling the roses “as the saying goes, but we must be patient for a little while longer.

Take the time to be productive and constructive in ways you would not have anticipated, and grow in ways that will challenge you… you may find that it’s not as bad as you thought it may be.

It is also the time in the year when the stock market can be unpredictable, and losses can occur.

This Romance Flower month is where everything is heightened on a deeper emotional vibration.

Be kind to yourself and to others as tensions can rise.

Remember to breathe…. We are all doing it tough in these challenging times in one way or another.

Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations

Yin Wood is like the grass, flexible, supple, gentle, compromising, and adaptable.

The Metal Rooster is practical, observant, honest, charming, confidant, and a perfectionist.

Health blog from TCM aspects for the month of September

September is represented by Yin Wood on a Metal Rooster. Where Yin Wood signifies the liver, gall bladder and the head, and Metal Rooster as lungs, intestine and blood. Note that wood and metal are in clash with each other.

With Spring just a few sleeps away, we will be discussing the significance of this season in relation to health. Spring belongs to the Wood element and its corresponding organ is Liver and Gallbladder. When Spring comes, the Yang energy inside the body starts to arise. As these organs prefer free flowing energy, if their channels are not fully open, these arising energy levels will become stagnant and cause disease. Some of the clinical symptoms include stiffness/pain along the channel as well as feeling angry/frustrated. According to the interactions of the 5 elements, the metal governs the wood. However, when the wood energy is in excess, it can overwhelm the metal element instead. Applying this same logic, when the Lung channel is blocked, it is easier to suffer from respiratory diseases such as Hay fever, asthma, cold/flu, phenomena (or Covid-19 during this pandemic) etc..

To keep healthy in September, we need to both maintain free flow of Liver energy and top up Lung energy. Regular outdoor exercise (running, walking, Yoga, Tai Chi etc.) could ensure free flow of energy. Adequate oxygen levels and UV light exposure can also help the body to produce Vit D to defend the immune system. Lemon and mint tea with a few slices of ginger is good for soothing the Liver energy as well as protecting the Lung against wind cold attacks.
