OCTOBER 2023, FENG SHUI FLYING STARS & CHINESE ASTROLOGY FORECAST
This month’s Yang Water on an Earth Dog begins on 8th October @ 9:17pm until 8th November 12:37am
There are only 4 months left in the Chinese Solar Calendar until we welcome in 2024 – Yang Wood on Earth Dragon year.
This month also triggers the energy of next year as the Dog & Dragon are clashing animals.
A clash means changes that can take you out of your comfort zone, make you restless, instigate movement, may it be a new home, job, school, travel, moving interstate or from city living to the quiet country life or as they say ‘make a sea change’. It may also give you the push and the courage to make a relationship change, a healthy life style change to honour your overall well-being and spiritual growth.
If you are born in the years and day of the Dog (1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018), month of October between the dates of the 8/10 of October till 7/11 November, also between the hours of 7-9pm, you will certainly start to feel the changes this month.
There is no Noblemen (helpful people) in the Dog month or even the Dragon year of 2024. This means you have to rely on yourself to make these changes. I’m a big believer in putting positive energy out there and ask for help and there is more to your Chinese Astrology chart then just the year you are born.
The energy of the Yang Water on top of Earth Dog, combines with the yearly Yin Water Rabbit, creating strong water this month which can indicate floods, storms, tsunamis, hurricanes, typhoons or cyclones.
Last month was also a strong water energy which led to many countries being severely affected by damaging floods – Libya, Greece, New York, Hong Kong, Turkey, Taiwan, Brazil, Nevada and Austria.
October’s Dog month and this year’s Rabbit also combines creating a fire combination. This means we will also experience fire and water disasters. The Bureau of Meteorology in Australia has already given warnings to prepare for a hot summer season and to have a bush fire plan put into place.
October is also known ‘Bear October’ in the stock market, so expect to hear of more economic difficulties. My advice is to put some savings away and be conservative with your spending.
It is also a great month to start preparing for not just next year’s Yang Wood Dragon energy, but also for the next 20 years as we come into the new Energy Shift of Period 9 (2024-2044).

Clash Animal
The Dog & Dragon are a Clash in Chinese Astrology. If you have a Dragon in your chart then you are in Clash with the month, it can fall in the:
– Day you are born,
-Month (April 5/6 to 5/6 May)
– Hour (between 7am- 9am) and,
– Years (1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012).
It is recommended that you take extra care this month and carry the charm of a Rabbit as it is friends with the Dog in Chinese Astrology.
If you have Yang Fire, in your Chinese Astrology Chart, you are in Clash with the Yang Water of the Month. It is more evident if you are born on the Day of Yang Water.
Depending on if Yang Water is favourable or not, a Clash can be positive as it can activate whatever the aspect of the element is (you can book in for a Chinese Astrology reading to find out more).
Penalty Animal
An Earth Penalty can instigate extreme worry, hidden dangers, accidents, diseases, misfortune, sporting accidents especially those played on the earth, growths, and hidden cancer.
If you have an Ox & Goat in your Chinese Astrology Chart, then this month the Dog brings about and Earth Penalty.
If Earth is an unfavourable element, then avoid extreme sports, and take extra on the roads.
Carry the Charm of the Rabbit to keep the Dog peaceful.
Combinations with the Dog
The Dog & Rabbit are best of friends in Chinese Astrology, therefore, anticipate a smoother month, especially if it’s on the Day you are born.

FLYING STARS OCTOBER 2023
WEST-representing ill- health & fertility- 6 coins are recommended as a cure for this direction. Take care of your health this month and build up your immune system with antioxidants.
NORTH-represents difficulty, obstacles & destructive energy- 6 metal bells or a 6-metal piped wind chime is recommended to disperse negative energy.
EAST– The Star #7 (Metal) is associated with financial loss, robbery, theft, betrayal, violence.
NORTHEAST- The Star #3 is related to conflict, fighting, & robbery , avoid any serious conversations in the west sector this month.
CENTRE- The Star #9 combines with the Star #4 bringing prosperity.
On a global scale the countries that lie in the West, North & the East of a country/state can anticipate unrest and/or natural disasters.
Take extra care if these energies fall into your bedroom, front door, or kitchen.
AOVID disturbing the land, digging, or renovating these sectors for the month as it can lead to money loss, or misfortune.
Health Tips for October 2023
October’s Yang Water on Earth Dog health focus is on the well-being of the Kidneys. Yang Water is our bladder, shins and the legs, while the Earth Dog governs the legs, ankles and feet.
Even though the Spring season is fully upon us, our weather can still fluctuate from warm to hot days, to rainy, windy and cold, especially here in Melbourne.
To maintain your health over the next month, here are some valuable tips:
- On cooler days & at night, keep the body covered and warm, especially the joints.
- Go out and enjoy the sunshine and exercise regularly to maintain your overall well-being.
- Continue to manage stress and prioritise sleep.
- Proper nutrition & staying well hydrated is the key to optimal kidney health. Recommended foods for this season include regular bone broth, cashew nuts, walnuts and mushrooms.
- Engage in regular foot spas as this is both beneficial to the kidney and the liver channels.
- If you have lower back pain, seek professional help this season.
