July 2019 is Yin Metal on an Earth Goat month and begins on the 7th at 5:22 pm
Yin Metal is like a fine piece of Jewellery, attractive, gentle, sarcastic, graceful, & principled.
The Earth Goat is unorganized, thinkers, creative, and places importance on appearances, they are also very spiritual.
The Goat and the Horse are soul mates in Chinese Astrology; therefore, if you have a Horse in your Chinese Astrology Chart- Four Pillars of Destiny – also known as Bazi, then you have harmony with whoever it represents in your chart, e.g. Year is grandparents & friendship groups, Month is parent & Career, Day is your partner, Hour is your children.

From the Chinese medicine point of view, the corresponding organs for winter are the Kidney and bladder.
All the organs are connected to each other and the two most common relationships for them are the generating (Sheng) cycle and controlling (Ke) cycle. The generating/mother organs for Kidney/bladder are Lung and Colon respectively and the controlling organs for Kidney/ bladder are spleen and stomach respectively.
Since this winter season we have been experiencing extreme cold weather, the Kidney and bladder energy would be weakened. Kidney looks after the bone and marrow, and the corresponding area are back/buttocks/legs. If the kidney suffers, people tend to have lower back pain, hip pain and leg pain/sciatica. Also if the kidney is weak, it cannot control water hence leading to some urination problems such as leaking bladder, UTI, oedema etc..
When the son organ is weak, the mother organs suffer as well. The lung and colon deficiencies would cause many respiratory and digestive system problems. That’s why we have had a lot of flu, asthma and pneumonia since the start of winter this year. Lungs are in charge of the skin, some skin conditions would occur, such as eczema, dry skin etc, if they are not at optimal state.
In order to maintain your health this winter, we need to strengthen the kidney energy by having regular and moderate exercise (eg: yoga, Pilates, Tai chi, Qi gong, meditation etc). Also, have bone broth once or twice a week would be good to replenish the kidney energy. Foot bath would be another way to strengthen the kidney and Lung qi.
