THE CHINESE YEAR OF THE EARTH PIG 2019
Welcoming in the Chinese year of the Earth Pig, which officially begins on the 4th of February but is celebrated on the 5th of February. The New Moon is when the Chinese celebrate the new energies of the year.
Every year, Chinese New Year celebrations can be celebrated from anytime between January 21st to February 21st depending when the New Moon falls closest to the 4th of February.
In China the 4th of February is the Beginning of Spring, therefore the beginning of a new agricultural cycle, as the Chinese people follow the solar calendar also known as the Farmers almanac. The Arrival of Spring is when new growth begins, and all seeds planted spring to life and new beginnings start.
As we say goodbye to the Year of the Earth Dog and welcome in the energies of the Earth Pig, the Earth Pig brings about an elemental change where the Earth and Water elementally compete against each other in the 5 elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water, predicting a year of changes that can be disturbing on a global scale.
Yin Earth is the element that is showing off this year as it’s the Heavenly Stem of the year. The emotion is fear.
