December 7th, 2021, brings at 5;59 am and ends on January 5th at 5:16 pm.
The month is Yang Metal on a Water Rat.
It is nearing the end of the Chinese solar year; we still have another month to go as Febuary the 3rd 2022 is the end of the Yin Metal Ox Year. Ironically January is also a Yin Metal Ox month, which amplifies the energy of the year. More on this next month.
The month of December though is Yang Metal Rat, which is like the energy of 2020. Climatically this month is a very cold and wet month with the strong water element present. Therefore, anticipate a wetter season in the southern hemisphere and a colder winter in the northern hemisphere.
The Ox in the year and the Rat in the month also form half a Water season (Pig, Rat, Ox), therefore, anticipate more floods, mud slides, and unstable earth, especially in the Northwest or East direction of the globe or a country.
The Star 4 takes up residency in the central palace of the Lo Shu chart this month indicating the Wind Trigram, which can bring about server weather patterns, cyclones, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
The Star 4 (wood) also represent relationships, the eldest daughter, adultery, and sex scandal and as the Star 6 (metal) resides in the central palace this year this can bring out scandals concerning people in power, governments, law, military, and CEO’s causing lawsuits.
The Rat is also a Romance Flower or Peach Blossom; therefore, it can be a very emotional month, but also a month of beauty and relationships. So, be kind as some relationships can be tested and others can be blooming. Last year’s energy would give you an indication of what to expect this month.
As it is also the festive season, emotions can run high especially as families get together, as some will have not seen each other for quite some time and others will have another lonely festive season, depending on your country’s restrictions. I’m anticipating this will be the last year of such restrictions globally as next years Tiger energy brings in the feeling of joy, as the Tiger is the beginning of the Fire Combine, and fire represents joy and happiness.
These last two months of the year energetically can be challenging and with so much division and adversity in the world today remember to be kind, inclusive, sharing, and forgiving in this festive season.

December is the month of Yang Metal on Water Rat.
This is the energy of 2021 in general. “Yang Metal” is the colon, large Intestine, navel, and the lungs while “Water Rat” is the bladder, the ears, and also the kidney chi.
We will be expecting more gastrointestinal as well as Kidney related issues this month. With the lift of restrictions, more people are hosting functions and gatherings. Thus, it’s not uncommon to see clients experiencing overeating issues as well as having late nights out.
In Chinese Medicine, the large intestine is in charge of the passage of food as well as the partial absorption of the nutrients. If you overload the digestive system, the large intestine will suffer, resulting in abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, or diarrhoea. In order to keep the health of your digestive system, please remember the 80% rules – only eat 80% of the capacity of your stomach. In order to achieve this, you need to eat slowly and chew 20 times before you swallow your bite. If you happen to overeat, please drink some mandarin/lemon peels tea to aid digestion.
Also, always sleeping late will damage the Kidney energy, causing dark eye bags, hair loss, ringing ears, frequent urination and even issues related to the reproductive system. In order to keep the health of Kidney energy, we should avoid late nights, regularly taking walnuts and cashews, and have bone broth once to twice per week.
