DECEMBER 2020 FENG SHUI FLYING STARS & CHINESE ASTROLOGY FORECAST
DECEMBER 2020 is Yang Earth on Water Rat month and begins on the 7th at 11:25 am
December is here peeps, so get ready to ride the wave, its going to be a huge month.
We are entering the 2nd last month of the Year of the Rat in the Chinese Calendar…. I know, the year is not over yet… we still have January to go, as the Chinese year ends on the 2nd of February 2021.
- The Rat month duplicates with the Rat year creating a powerful Water cycle.
- The Flying stars of the month duplicate with the yearly Flying Stars, making this month’s energies enormously powerful.
Just when we thought the year will end calmly, December comes along to create a tsunami of a month…. Well there is that saying, “the calm before the storm” … just remember after the storm passes and everything is unearthed, because that is what a tsunami does, it brings out what is hidden in the ocean, then we can find a way to deal and adjust to the future .
In Western Astrology it’s a huge month with Jupiter-Saturn conjunction at zero degrees in
Aquarius on the 21st of December, which also lines up with the Winter solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. We also have a New Moon Eclipse on December 14th, 2020.
Saturn & Jupiter are the 2 biggest planets in the Solar system and have not been this close together for about 800 years. This alignment could well also be the sign of the much spoken about ‘Age of Aquarius’.
If you are interested in this alignment, then it’s not difficult to google information on this great conjunction of the planets.
Now to the Chinese Astrology forecast of the month, which is very similar to what is going on in Western Astrology… well from my point of view that is.
The Month of December is Yang Earth on a Water Rat.
The month brings about all Yang elements, so be prepared for a month of a lot of action.
Yang Earth is like a mountain they are steady, solid, and stubborn and are hard to move. They are strong and slow in decisions – they take their time. They are realistic and sociable, but once it has made up its mind, the that is, the only way to change it, is to chip at it slowly.
The Water Rat is known to be quick witted, sociable, shrewd; it succeeds as Rats fears failure, and is the first to accomplish tasks, hence the rat was first to cross the river, jumping onto the Ox’s back. Intelligent and cunning at the same time, rats are extremely ambitious and strong-willed people who are keen and unapologetic promoters of their own agendas, which often include money and power. Rats also adapt to environments easily and find their way around obstacles.
The Water Rat is defined as Yang Water Rat representing a mass of water, like an ocean, tsunami, floods, and is the peak of Winter Season in the elements. Water emotionally represents fear and trust; therefore, people may seem emotionally imbalanced and can experience lack of trust and fear, especially this month as the energy duplicates with the year.
I always say the energy of the day the month begins together with the hour, month, and year can indicate what type of month we can anticipate.
Before I discuss the day the month begins, let’s look at how the 5 Elements are related to 5 of the Planets in the solar system.
Wood is related to Jupiter, Fire is related to Mars, Earth is related to Saturn, Metal is related to Venus and, Water is related to Mercury.
The day the month begins is Yang Wood, well you could say its Jupiter in the planets. The month is Yang Earth and can indicate the planet Saturn. Therefore, the day the month begins is very much related to the two major planets that are the focus of this month.
The Yang Wood day sits on a Metal Monkey, and the Yang Earth Month sits on a Water Rat. In Chinese Astrology these two animals form half a Water Combination as the Monkey, Rat & Dragon form a Water Trine Combine (a strong formation of water)
So, you can say that the Day & Month December begins are like the Planets of Jupiter and Saturn which sits on a strong combination of Water. Aquarius is a water bearer symbol belonging to the Air sign in Western Astrology.
Coincidently, Aquarius is also the 11th sign in the Zodiac and December is the 11th month in the Solar Calendar. Number 11 in Numerology is a Master Number and is considered the most intuitive of all numbers, and those with the Life Path Number 11 tend to be very sensitive and intuitive, with a deeper understanding of others and a natural sense of what is going on behind the scenes.
The hour and the year are both Yang Metal.
Yang Metal is compared to a weapon, it’s like a sword. It does not forgive nor compromise. Yang Metal people are masculine and possess leadership qualities, they are brave, heroic stand for justice. It can be very intimidating to others; It is very stubborn and careless; it does not pay attention to details. Its tongue is sharp and can cut you like a blade. It heavily criticizes those that it does not like. They are known to be military generals, kings, and today you can also compare them to CEO’s, politicians, and royalty.
The year pillar is Yang Metal sitting on a Water Rat and in the hour, there is Yang Metal is sitting on a Fire Horse.
In Chinese Astrology the Rat and the Horse are foes, therefore there is no friendships to be seen here.
The two Yang Metals on the day the month begins are like 2 swords attacking each other – one Yang Metal sits on Water, where in the cycles of the elements water weakens the metal, whereas, the other Yang Metal in the Hour sits on Fire, in the 5 elements fire melts the metal…
I am relating these two Yang Metal elements as the political leaders of the United States as they have been the focus in the media in the last few months , especially last month with the US election coming under scrutiny with inconsistent electoral votes.
The year in a Chinese Astrology chart or a Bazi chart represents the past, and the hour represents the future. As Yang Metal is compared to politicians, you can say that the yearly Metal is Donald Trump (past) and the hour Metal is Joe Biden (future).
These two political leaders are in clash, as one sits on a Horse (Biden) and the other on a Rat (Trump) and with the month being a Rat month, well this clash will be heightened. These two swords are in battle and are divided by Yang Wood and Yang Earth. We may have to wait for the conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn to arrive to find out the final outcome to the US presidentship.
Trumps natal chart has the Horse in the month he is born and, Biden is born in the Year of the Horse, therefore, they are both under clash this year. The Rat is Trumps Nobleman (see below) as he is a Yin Earth Day master, and Water is a favourable element for Trump. This month he has two Noblemen, whereas Biden is Yin Fire Day Master with Earth, and Water as his unfavourable elements. I wonder what the final outcome of the US election will be.
Other world leaders who are also under clash this year and have the Horse in their Bazi charts are Boris Johnson, Angela Merkel, Xi Jinping, Tsai Ing-wen, Prince William, and Melbourne’s Premier Dan Andrews.
In Chinese Astrology the Rat is Yang Water and is related to the ocean, or a tsunami, its forceful, impulsive, and will take out what is needs to take out. Hidden in this Rat is Yin Water representing small water drop of the morning dew.
Yin Water people are the hardest element to get to know and is the most yin of all the yin & yang elements. They are secretive and you will be surprised with what they are capable of doing. Yin Water elementally will always find a way as the morning dew can seep into anything. Water also represents is information, intelligence, wisdom, intuition, and communication.
Therefore, what is hidden in the year and the month will be hidden will surface, as the Yang Water Rat which is like a tsunami can bring up what is hidden on the bottom of the ocean to the surface, once the waters have settled.
Water elementally flows forward or downwards; it does not flow backwards. Therefore, the water element this month will bring changes, well the year brought that change already with Covid-19 so there is no escaping the year. You can either sink or swim, but life as we know it will change, let hope this change is for the better of humankind and our planet, so we can all swim in it without fear.
Some my favourite Water quotes from Bruce Lee are:
- “In the middle of chaos lies opportunity.” – Bruce Lee
- “Fear comes from uncertainty; we can eliminate the fear within us when we know ourselves better.” – Bruce Lee
- “Don’t get set into one form, adapt it and build your own, and let it grow, be like water.” – Bruce Lee
- “Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow, or it can crash. Be water my friend” – Bruce Lee.
The change is coming and as human beings the best way to cope with change is to be constructive. Stay positive and release what no longer severs you. Move forward from the past so it doesn’t hold you back and become stagnant like a swamp.
Nobleman Month-
Nobleman is described as ‘helpful people’.
- People Born on a Year & Day of Yin Wood & Yin Earth.
- Born in the Years ending with 5 & 9 (1975,1979, 1985, 1989, 1995, 1999, 2005,2009, etc…)
Romance Flower or Peach Blossom Month-
If you are born in the Year or Day of a Pig, Rabbit, or Goat, the Rat is your Romance Flower (Peach Blossom) month.
You may attract extra attention and standing out this month. It can also indicate a relationship with the opposite sex or same sex – whatever your preference is 😊.
- Pig Years include 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019,
- Rabbit Years include 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011
- Goat Years include 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015.
Clash Animal
If you have a HORSE in your Chinese Astrology chart, it can fall in the:
- – Day you are born,
- -Month (June 5/6 to July 7/8),
- – Hour (between 11am-1pm) and,
- – Years (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014).
As both animals are Romance Flowers (Peach Blossoms) relationship matters will arise especially as the Rat month duplicates with the year.
If your relationship this year was challenging, then expect an extra difficult month. It can indicate an end of relationship. If your relationship has blossomed this year, then enjoy the passionate month.
I always say clashes aren’t always that bad depending if they are favourable or not, but they will change your current situation may it be bad or good. The clash will take you out of your comfort zone…its like a kick in the butt, sometimes its painful and other time not so painful.
It is recommended that you take extra care this month and carry the charm of an Ox as the Ox & the Rat are best friends in Chinese Astrology.
Penalty Animal
If you have a Rabbit in your Chinese Astrology Chart, then this month bring a Two -Penalty.
- – Day you are born,
- -Month (March 5/6 to April 7/8),
- – Hour (between 5am-7am) and,
- – Years (1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014).
A Two- Penalty is someone that is disloyal and ungrateful.
This month will test your relationship status and uncover people in your personal life being unfaithful and ungrateful, or are you being ungrateful or unfaithful?
As both the Rabbit and the Rat are Romance Flowers (Peach Blossoms), this will affect matters of the heart and question relationships may they be with your family, friends, or partner. Be ready for an emotional month and yes, there will be tears.
Carry the Charm of the Ox to weaken the effects.
Combinations with the Rat-
The Rat and the Ox are best of friends in Chinese Astrology, therefore, anticipate a smoother month, especially if it on the Day you are born.
The Rat also combines with the Monkey and the Dragon forming a Water Trine combination- what does Water represent in your chart? Is it money, intelligence, resources, power, or self? (see below)
In your Chinese Astrology chart, who is this harmony with? – Day is your partner, Month is your parents & career, Year is your social group and networks, Hour is children and your ideas.
Health blog from TCM aspects for the month of December
December is approaching and the Month is Yang Earth on a Water Rat.
Yang Earth is the Stomach and the chest, and Water Rat is the bladder & the ears. Again, these two elements are not in harmony.
December is the start of summer in the Southern Hemisphere and the related organs from Chinese Medicine are heart and the spleen & stomach. Since the weather is getting warmer, people tend to have more Fire in the heart. Heart resides in the chest, that’s why during summer season some people would easily experience Heart palpitations, frustration, stuffiness in the chest etc.
Also, summer heat always combines with dampness which could damage the digestive system causing stomach discomfort, diarrhea, nausea etc… If the damp heat travel to the bladder, people would have some UTI symptoms like frequent, burning, or painful urination. If the damp heat traps in the ear, people would experience pain in the ear, tinnitus, or unusual discharge from the ear tunnel.
In order to keep our health during this month, we need to drink enough water to hydrate the body and cool the fire. Remember the digestive system is not strong this month and they always prefer warmth; we should always drink body temperature water instead of refrigerated one.
Ginger tea in the morning is good to clear dampness in the body as well as strengthening the digestive system. Regular exercise and rest are essential to keep our health too. Watermelon is good to cool the heart fire, promote urination and ease the UTI symptoms.

What do the Earth & Water Element represent for you this month?
If you are YIN or YANG-
WOOD- the Earth brings in money luck this month, and there is support for you this month with new ideas and resources. If Earth & Water are an unfavourable elements, be mindful as you may be that compulsive buyer and find yourself short of money by holiday season.
FIRE– new resources are available for you this month, as there may be an unexpected promotion. If Earth & Water are unfavourable, there may be unexpected pressures placed on you which can drain your energy, so be mindful to watch your health this month.
EARTH– the Earth brings about a sociable month with friends, family, ad colleagues. The Water element will bring about unexpected income or money win. If Earth & Water are unfavourable, be mindful of how you spend your money this month as you may find you are overspending on family, friends, and your social life.
METAL– the Earth brings about new ideas, resources, or study, as the water can bring about a lot of activity. If Earth & Water are unfavourable, be mindful not to exhaust your resources as you can find yourself drained of energy.
WATER-the Earth brings about a promotion and status with unexpected social interactions and outings. If Earth & Water are unfavourable elements, you may find yourself under pressure from family and friends.
FLYING STARS DECEMBER 2020
This month the Flying Stars duplicate that of the Yearly Stars, therefore creating double the energies in every sector.
For some sectors like the NW, NE, and West the energy here is double the luck this month.
The West sector on a deeper level can form a Fire combination, so be mindful to not leave any candles lit or unattended fires in the west sector.
Take extra care of the East, South and the Centre as these sectors are extremely challenged this month.
The sectors that need to be looked after are:
South -representing ill- health & fertility- 6 coins are recommended as a cure for this direction.
East -represents difficulty, obstacles & destructive energy- 6 metal bells or a 6-metal piped wind chime is recommended to disperse negative energy.
Centre- represents scandal & robbery- place 3 bamboo in a clear glass vase to weaken this negative energy.
On a global scale the countries that lie in the East & South & the Centre of a country/state can anticipate natural & climatic disasters.
Take extra care if these energies fall into your bedroom, front door, or kitchen.
